Take a deep breath in. Slow. Steady. Let your shoulders soften as you exhale. You are safe to be here. Nothing urgent. Nothing rushed.
Before we begin, I want to be transparent and loving in how I show up with you. You may start to see carefully chosen sponsored resources in these emails. I choose only what aligns with wellness and meaningful growth. Running ads helps me continue offering this newsletter freely, and it also allows me to offer sliding-scale coaching to those who need support but may not have the financial room to seek it. This is one way we care for our community together.
Last week, we talked about recognizing when your role no longer supports your wellness. Now, we gently shift into preparing for what may come next. Whether you’re considering a pivot, rising into leadership, re-entering the workforce, or simply wanting your professional presence to feel more accurate, your LinkedIn profile is a powerful place to begin.
Your LinkedIn is not just a résumé. It is the story of your work — and your growth — told in your voice.
✨ This Week's Actionable Tip
Set aside just 15 minutes each day to update your LinkedIn account, even if you are not currently looking for work. This will allow you to network and be prepared in case you are suddenly ready to switch up your career or place of employment.
Before changing anything, take a moment to get clear on your goals. Are you preparing to move into a new field? Are you reaching toward a higher-level role within your current field? Are you returning after time away? Your goal shapes how your story is told.
Then, consider your target audience. Who do you want to notice you? Hiring managers? Small business owners? Nonprofit leaders? Creative collaborators? People who value human-centered leadership?
Your profile should speak to what matters to them.
From there, we gather keywords. Think of these as the language that helps the right people find you. Look at job postings that feel aligned with the direction you’re moving toward. What words repeat across them? Titles, industries, skills, certifications, software, specialties, methods, approaches — these become threads in your story.
Now when you write your profile, you are not just listing your experience.
You are telling the story your future audience needs to hear.
Write in first person. Allow your humanity to show. Let your LinkedIn feel like a conversation, not a script. And make sure your profile reads cleanly on both computer and phone screens — most people will see it on mobile first.
Your photo is your quiet introduction. Let it be recent, clear, warm, and centered on your face. It doesn’t need to be formal — it needs to feel like you.
As you revise your skills, endorsements, job descriptions, and headline, allow your keywords to be present, naturally woven in — not forced. Let your language reflect your strengths and your direction.
Then, gently shift into connection. Follow companies that feel exciting or aligned. Connect with people you genuinely respect. Start with those you know, then gradually expand toward those in similar or aspirational industries. LinkedIn is still a relational space — even in a digital world, connection is what opens the next door.
