Eventually, many people stop asking whether their body is struggling and start assuming this is simply adulthood.

But stress doesn’t only live in your thoughts.

Your body carries it too.

Stress can show up as:

  • muscle tension
  • headaches
  • irritability
  • digestive changes
  • exhaustion but difficulty relaxing
  • poor sleep
  • forgetfulness
  • feeling emotionally numb or disconnected
  • feeling constantly “on”

A gentle reminder:

You do not need to wait until your body completely crashes to deserve support.

One of the things I’ve been talking about more recently on my podcast is how the body uses something called the Hypothalamic–Pituitary–Adrenal (HPA) Axis to respond to stress.

This system helps regulate:

  • energy
  • inflammation
  • sleep
  • mood
  • immune response
  • nervous system activation

Short-term stress is not inherently bad.

The issue is when stress becomes chronic.
